About

I grew my first cannabis plant in 2001 as a teenager. Even though it was just a few plants over one season, grown under a couple incandescents, I had always thought how cool it would be to create my own strain. 25 years later, and life took me far from the plant before bringing it back to me in 2017.

After a few years of growing and learning about genetics, I was frustrated by the lack of high-quality American genetics available in the country. Back then, there were no more than 5 American-based breeders available locally. I reached out to Biltong and Budz, asking about how we could get some better seeds into South Africa. In particular, I was looking for gas. Real OG Kush, Sour Diesel and Chem types primarily.

Working with the team at B&B I helped them source the kinds of gear I was looking for locally. Within a year, we were stocking breeders like CSI:Humboldt, Archive Seed Bank, Seed Junky, Swamp Boys, Solfire, and many more. It’s here that I started my own journey into breeding.

In my years of helping the company, I got my hands on some quality gear. The kinds of genetics I had dreamed of. I started popping plenty of packs, hunting through what I consider the best breeders’ gear. After 4 years I had a library of mothers that represented my own interests. Race Fuel by Archive (High Octane x Face Off), Rest in Peace by CSI:Humboldt (Ghost OG x Chem 91), Strawberries & Cream by Exotic Genetics (Strawberry x Cookies and Cream) were some of my go-tos.

At the same time, I partnered with a buddy CapeTownLoud to work on our own Sour Diesel/OG line using Karma Genetics & Hortilab’s Sour Power OG and Profilic Coast’s “Champawat”. Years down the line, we’re still busy with this, but are working on a feminized seed line at the moment from our best selections from this hybrid.

My goal with creating my own seed work is to present South African smokers with the true experience of OG, Chem and Sour – primarily.
